Adams and Reese Partner Tim Anzenberger, a commercial and bankruptcy litigator, has been elected to the board of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the largest multi-disciplinary, premier professional organization dedicated to research and education for a membership of nearly 11,000 insolvency professionals. ABI member professionals include attorneys, accountants, auctioneers, judges, lenders, academics, turnaround specialists, and credit professionals, among many others.
Anzenberger was installed on the board at the ABI Spring Meeting, held April 18-20, in Washington D.C.
Anzenberger has long been active with the ABI, including serving as co-chair of ABI’s Ethics and Professional Compensation Committee, serving as co-chair of ABI’s Business Reorganization Committee, and sitting on the Advisory Board for ABI’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop. Anzenberger has authored several articles for the ABI Journal and committee newsletters. In 2022, ABI selected Anzenberger among the “40 Under 40”, honoring business professionals who demonstrate ability, leadership, and achievement in the bankruptcy and insolvency community.
Anzenberger has been ranked by colleagues, clients, and peers, among the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” and Super Lawyers “Mid-South Rising Stars” in Bankruptcy Law, Business Litigation, and Appellate Litigation. Anzenberger is a contributing author to the annual Thomson Reuters edition of Strategic Alternatives For and Against Distressed Businesses, a comprehensive guide written by and for insolvency professionals.
At Adams and Reese, Anzenberger pursues the interests of financial institutions and other creditors in bankruptcy cases and litigates on their behalf in state and federal courts. He is an experienced appellate litigator in financial-services cases. As part of his appellate practice, Anzenberger is a member of the Pro Bono Appellate Programs for the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits.
Anzenberger’s experience also includes representing lenders in commercial restructuring and bankruptcy cases; defending preference actions; defending lender-liability claims; prosecuting objections to discharge; pursuing fraudulent transfers; and defending creditors in adversary proceedings.
Anzenberger earned his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law and received his B.A. from North Carolina State University.
